Mrs. Dianna Thatcher, Director, Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool teacher

            Mrs. Thatcher earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Trenton State College in New Jersey.  Prior to joining the Ann Street School she was a head teacher and assistant director of a preschool in Sparta, New Jersey.   Dianna has been on our staff for 10 years.

            Mrs. Thatcher continues her professional growth through the PA Keys to Professional Development System by attending trainings sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension and North Hampton Community College.  Mrs. Thatcher is a member of several professional organizations including NAEYC and has attended NAEYC Conferences and workshops.  Dianna is also an active member of REECHE and was the 2003 recipient of the REECHE Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.        

            Dianna is an active member of the National PTA and has served as an officer for a number of local units. In addition, she is involved with the Odyssey of the Mind program for the Delaware Valley School District.  She has also served as a Girl Scout leader for the Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council.

 

Mrs. Eileen Carmody, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

            Mrs. Carmody has been with the Ann Street School for 19 years.  She is certified in Early Childhood to 8th grade education.  Eileen also has her Master of Science degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in teaching methods.  She is a member of Recognizing Excellence in Early Childhood Education (REECHE), serves on the Early Care and Education Coalition in Pike County, and is the advisor to the Friends of the Children’s Room of Pike County Public Library. 

            Eileen is a Pennsylvania Pathways Certified Trainer for Early Childhood and School-Age Professionals.  In 2002 she received the REECHE Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education.  Mrs. Carmody enhances her educational qualifications by regularly attending PA Keys to Professional Development System’s Early Learning trainings, as well as National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) sponsored workshops, Kindergarten Teachers’ Conventions, and special needs trainings.
